Katherine Wurtz is the founder of KEW Grant Services LLC. Katherine has been in the grant writing and emissions analysis industries for over ten years. Before starting KEW Grant Services LLC, Katherine assisted in the funding of over 350 low emissions gen set locomotives in California, Florida, Louisiana, New York and Texas. In 2014, Katherine, along with her sister, Allison, founded KEW Grant Services LLC. Since its inception, KEW Grant Services LLC has secured over $150 million dollars in federal, state, and local air quality grants for their clients. Katherine holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Illinois-Champaign.

Allison Wurtz-Haney | principal grant writer & director of communications
Allison is the owner at KEW Grant Services LLC, and has been involved in the grant writing process for the past 8 years. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, certifications in Digital Advertising, as well as Railroad Engineering certification from the RAILTEC Civil Engineering department at the University of Illinois. Her professional experience ranges from social media, videography and marketing for Allied Van Lines, the University of Illinois and National Railway Equipment Company. She has also worked individually with a former NFL linebacker for the Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders, Nick Roach, and Chicago’s morning news Anchor Melissa Forman on WCIU. This experience was an important precursor to the work Allison does now as principal grant writer and communications director in her role at KEW Grant Services. In addition to traditional market research, she prepares regulatory overview of all funding programs, infographic and media presentations for current KEW clients including: Archer Daniels Midland, BNSF, CEMEX, Harris Ranch, Metropolitan Stevedore, SGS Petroleum, Western Milling and other industrial and port related customers in North America. She is also in charge of strategic and incentive based outreach with local, state and federal government agencies in the United States and Canada.
